Karis Wong

Karis Wong, originally from Shenzhen, China, is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in New York City. Educated with a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from Parsons School of Design, her work spans painting, music and video. In her art, she captures the absurdity of modern life, using her collection of objects and images to raise questions with a touch of humor and melancholy. Karis is also a music producer and singer-songwriter. Her exploration of sound plays a key role in her emotional expression, interacting with her visual art, seeking to find a resting spot among the intangible, the chaos.
